VEHICLE USAGE POLICIES

The major terms and conditions for rental are listed below. A detailed summary is provided in the section that follows. Please take the time to read through the entire list. If you have any questions feel free to call or email us and our rental coordinators will assist you.

RENTAL DAY REQUIREMENTS

Once you make a reservation and place a deposit you will receive a reservation confirmation The confirmation will confirm your vehicle, rental dates, pickup location and costs. On the day of your rental, each driver will have to present 3 items to the rental agent:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Proof of insurance card
  • Credit card(s) used to make the reservation

You will not be able to rent the car if you do not have these 3 items with you at the time of the rental. All drivers must be present at the time of the rental.

ORIENTATION

All first time renters need to participate in an orientation specific to the vehicle that they will be renting. This is done so that you will be familiar on how to operate the car in a safe and efficient manner.

DRIVING RECORD

To qualify to rent from ACR, you cannot have had your license suspended or have been cited for any of the following within the last 3 years:

  • Multiple moving violations
  • Driving under the influence of a controlled substance (DWI or DUI)
  • Reckless driving
  • Operating a vehicle without insurance

When you make a reservation you authorize ACR to run a MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) with the state you are licensed to drive.

AGE REQUIREMENT

Renters must be at least 25 years of age regardless if the renter is the primary or secondary driver. There are no exceptions to the minimum age requirement.

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS POLICY

You may add one person to a rental for a fee of $ xx.xx per day. The additional driver must be present at the time of the rental and must meet all of the qualifications as the primary renter.

INSURANCE REQUIREMENT

Auto insurance policy must contain coverage for a rental company. All renters must carry full coverage; comprehensive, collision and liability insurance on their current car insurance policy, at the time of the rental. Liability limits must be at a minimum of 100,000 / 300,000 / 100,000 to qualify. All renters policy must be active with the same insurance company for a minimum of 3 months and we cannot accept insurance policies underwritten by high risk insurers or rental customers with a high risk insurance rating (SR Rating).

PAYMENT/DAMAGE DEPOSIT POLICY

A Damage Deposit of $2,500 must be placed prior to every rental with a major credit card valid in the renter's name. A damage deposit is an authorization against your credit card's credit limit.  The deposit effectively removes the amount of credit from your credit line during your rental period. This authorization is a hold and will not show up on your credit card statement as a charge.

CANCELATION POLICY

A cancelation fee will be applied to your credit card if you cancel within two weeks of the start of the rental. The cancelation fee increases the closer to the rental date. The cancelation fee is as follows:

A Cancelation fee of $200.00 applies if the reservation is cancelled between 10-14 days of the start of the rental. A 25.0% charge from the total rental price will apply if you cancel between 7-10 days. A 50.0% charge of the total rental price will be charged if the rental is cancelled within 1-7 days of the rental start time and a cancelation fee of 75.0% of the total rental price will apply if you fail to pick up the vehicle on the rental date, "no show".

RATES

All rates are subject to change without notice. Special Offers may expire at any time. We reserve the right to refuse/postpone rental due to severe weather, snow, past driving record or any other reason that may jeopardize your safety as well as that of the vehicle.

MILEAGE

All rentals come with xx free miles per day for Bronze and xx for Silver as indicated in the rental schedule. Each additional mile thereafter is charged at $xx.x for Bronze cars and xx for silver cars.

FUEL

Vehicles must be returned with the same level of gas as originally rented. A charge will be added to the rental to return the fuel level to that amount. Please note the type of gas each car requires, which is indicated in the glove compartment.

DRIVING AREA RESTRICTIONS

Drivers must remain in the state where the vehicles are rented. Exceptions to this must be cleared at the time of rental and not at the time of pickup. Unless otherwise agreed to in writing our vehicles are not permitted in the City of Chicago.

CAR MONITORING/PENALTIES

All ACR vehicles are equipped with tracking and monitoring devices.  For the safety of our renters we track the car location, speeds or RPM's, etc. ACR is automatically notified if the vehicle enters into a restricted area or is traveling at excessive speed or RPM's. ACR reserves the right to cancel the rental, suspend your driving privileges with ACR and pick up the vehicle. ACR will charge your credit card accordingly. ACR will disable the vehicle remotely if the renter violates the terms of the rental agreement or vehicle usage policies.

Many of the cars are equipped with RPM limiters which will not allow the RPM's of the car above the threshold deemed safe for the car.

POTENTIAL PROBLEMS

We take the greatest care and maintenance with our cars, but with all cars, they may break down. If you do experience a difficulty, please pull over to the safest place possible and call us at 866-881-8214. Please do not attempt to fix the cars yourself. We will……..

You Are Renting An Old Classic Car! Please treat the vehicles with care.

PLEASE REMEMBER:

  • Head lights do not automatically turn on or off
  • Blinkers do not turn off automatically
  • Cars do not have cup holders
  • We indicate which cars have automatic or manual transmissions
  • We also indicate which cars do not have power steering or power brakes
