1969 Pontiac GTO

The GTO was completely new for 1968. The optional Endura bumper could take the blows of a sledgehammer without damage, and overall the new platform was sleek and stylish. Engines were up to 400 cubic inches, and the massive 455 cubic inch big block was added in 1970. The highest performance engine is the Ram Air IV 400. The 1969-1971 GTO Judge cars are highly sought-after as the ultimate GTO, and Judge convertibles are rare (only 17 were made in 1971). Body styles remained your choice of 2-door hardtop, coupe, or convertible. Engines were limited to 400 and 455 cubic inches, and a 3-speed automatic or 3 or 4-speed manual transmission. Muscle car prices for the GTO in this generation range from $17,000 to a gulp-worthy $190,000 for a 1971 GTO Judge convertible.
