1965 Chevy Chevelle SS

The Chevelle was a new body-on-frame car for GM in 1964. The new car from Chevrolet was a mid-sized vehicle offered in 2 and 4-door configurations, and as a convertible and station wagon. Power was available in inline 6-cylinder 283 or 327-ci V8 configurations. The stock transmission was a 3-speed manual or 2-speed Powerglide automatic. In this generation, the models you want are the Chevelle Malibu SS in two-door hardtop or convertible body with a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and the early-1964 220 hp 283-ci engine or the later 1964 and 1965 327-ci engine in 250, 300, and 350 horsepower variants. If you can find one of the 201 built, the 1965 Malibu Z16 is the holy grail of early Chevelles.
